Beginner needs help #626

I love the idea of the Tasks plugin but I must be missing something.
This is to see items scheduled for a particular day of the week, AND:
This is to show all current (as of tomorrow) due items.

Sorry I can't help with this right now. I'm on a mobile device and replying to all the questions here needs a bunch of copying links backwards and forwards from the documentation. I hope someone else might be able to help you. |

The bit of the documentation you want for this is: Layout Options The bit you are asking about is called the backlink, so this instruction would hide it: hide backlink
I cannot find the reference for this, but I have a dim recollection that if you specify a search filter (like on due date, etc) then all tasks are searched, not just those with the chosen tag. You could experiment to test this by trying this tasks block: ```tasks
```
Here is the list of all the searches that Tasks can do: https://schemar.github.io/obsidian-tasks/queries/filters/ I don't exactly understand your question, but in case it helps, the documentation for searching by start date is here: https://schemar.github.io/obsidian-tasks/queries/filters/#start-date Note that it says that this search also matches tasks with no start date. There is a recent Pull Request #629 that will add the ability to include this in the search:
Thanks so much for your thorough and clear reply. It will take me a couple days to try all this out. I really appreciate your time.
My questions are why does each item show what I understand is the source file for that Task in red. I don't see how that is useful for me and it just clutters up the list. Can I eliminate that part? The screenshots in the documentation do not include this information.
Why does it seem to not matter whether I include the tag '#task' or not. The first item has it but no others. Does that just place that item first? I thought that would be required to get an item in the task list.
Where can I find the complete task list including items that have a Start date later than tomorrow or any other criteria that excuse them from this display? This will allow me to edit those items which are not currently due by my settings.
