Hey! Curious what the community is using for self-hosted AI chat interfaces.
There are a bunch of options out there and it's hard to know which ones people
actually stick with long-term vs just try once

Overwhelmingly Raycast as a front end. I tried Typing Mind (hostable) and have always been interested in Lobe Chat. But all the local model hosts I've used (Msty, LM studio, and MLX studio) had enough chat features for me. Afaik none of those do computer use though.

Chat is only 10% of the capability of running a local model. Agentic tool calling, initiated from an automated agent harness, that is the future.

Not "hey chatbot, go do this exact, specific thing for me"

More like the harness having a goal in its memory, spinning up an agent on your behalf and having it go work on your goal in the background without you asking it to, and deciding for itself what the best course of action is.
