The sakis3G script is probably our best bet.

We also have to battle the usb_storage vs usb_modem. Our model from Glo seems to be "ID 19d2:0154 ZTE WCDMA Technologies MSM". Here's a thread talking about how to configure usb_modeswitch for a similar model

The UMTSkeeper link from the Big Cow Pi tutorial downloads the latest release (2.0?) which didn't work well for me. Went to the UMTSkeeper site and followed their tutorial for UMTSkeeper1, so really a combo of the two tutorials now. The following gist is what worked for me.
