Lazy to create a Reddit account, but here are some plots for 12" Macbook, comparing the default 2015 model (M-5Y31) against the 2017 models. Used the search keywords from [https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords=A1534] and Excel to plot the results.
M3 and i5 seem nearly identical. i7 gives a +10% bump.
