Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched the issue tracker for a feature request that matches the one I want to file, without success.

Describe your suggested feature

It would be helpful to have a toggle in the comic reader's configuration panel to hide cover files (e.g., cover.jpg, folder.jpg, etc.) from appearing as the first page when reading comics.

Why this feature is useful

  • Many comic archives include a separate cover file purely for metadata/display purposes.
  • Displaying it in the reader creates visual redundancy, as it's often identical to the first page of the comic.
  • Some readers may prefer to skip the cover entirely and jump right into the content.

Proposed Implementation

  • Add a simple toggle in the config/settings panel labeled:

Hide cover files in reader view
Skips displaying files named cover.*, folder.*, etc.

UI Placement

Here’s an example of where the toggle could be added (the toggle is highlighted light blue):

Optional Enhancements

  • Allow customization of filenames or patterns to hide (e.g., cover.jpg, *cover*, etc.).

Additional Information

I did come across a similar feature request here: Issue #341
It raises a valid point, and this suggestion is intended to build on that with a more fleshed-out proposal and UI reference. Definitely not meant to overwrite or discredit the original — just hoping this helps move the idea forward.
