Will there ever be a GPU passthrough on Windows VM ?

It is possible to configure GPU passthrough on your own. I have a locally running Windows virtual machine where I can play Fortnite or CS2 (along with low-latency solutions such as Looking Glass). However, this requires some system configuration and more.

I plan to prepare a configurator that will automate this process, but it still requires a lot of work.

I have already taken the first steps (but they are not directly related to GPU passthrough): #3321
But these changes, among others, will be necessary for the automatic installation of Looking Glass on Windows.

I see that you use an iGPU, is it mandatory ?

Yes, the current implementation requires iGPU (for host) + dGPU (for VM passthrough).

Single GPU passthrough is technically possible, but my code doesn't support it. It would require:

• Disconnecting Hyprland from the GPU before VM starts
• Switching display output to VM
• Returning to host after VM shutdown

This is significantly more complex than the current dual-GPU solution, as it essentially means killing your desktop session each time you want to use the VM.

Thanks for the explanation. Sadly I don't have an iGPU on hand... Isn't there a way to "share" the GPU between the VM and Omarchy ?
