What to do with consolidated metadata?

Zarr python provides experimental support of the [consolidated metadata feature](https://zarr.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user-guide/consolidated_metadata/). Do we enable this on write/read? What are the implications? Follow-up issue from [this comment](https://github.com/ome/ome-zarr-py/pull/515#discussion_r3394841785).
