getTotalPhysicalMemory() reports wrong value on macOS

On macOS the reported value of the total physical memory is 4096 times larger than the real value. According to the source code on macOS the sysctl -n hw.memsize call is used first. The result is multiplied with the page size of 4096. That multiplication is superfluous since sysctl -n hw.memsize already reports the total physical memory in bytes.

Hi,
similar issue, on my Macbook Air M2 24GB (OS X - Sonoma 14), I had to apply a corrector factor 4 times bigger than @thomasgi1 to then find the exact value claimed by the machine ...
I divided value by 16384 , to then be able to find the exact 24GB claimed by my device.

That difference is expected on Apple Silicon because the CPU's page size on Apple Silicon is 16384 in contrast to 4096 on x86.

Indeed ! Any idea why the number we get is actual memory * page size ?
