Slack vs. Discord

The Onyx open-source community is currently split between Slack and Discord. Ideally, we can support the entire community on a single platform. However, we're not sure which one to pick. Here's how we're thinking about it:

Slack:

Pros	Cons
+ Professional workspace	- 90 day message limit
+ Has easy threading	- Enterprise plan would be prohibitively expensive
+ Our internal messaging platform	- May not be preferred platform for developers and hobbyists

Discord:

Pros	Cons
+ Widely used by open-source software communities	- Generally not a professional workspace
+ Nominally free / no message limit	- Threads & replies are clunkier
+ Widely used by developers	-

Please let us know what you prefer! Are we missing any pros and cons? Which do you think is better long-term for Onyx's open-source community? Is there an unconsidered 3rd option 🤔?

Neither is good because the information is not searchable using google, bing etc.
Discord is better though because information does not get lost after 90 days and you don't need a dedicated account for the slack workspace and you can use your (propably existing) discord account for multiple projects with ease.

I think Slack is great. It has, IMO, a better UX.

Not a discord fan. Slack would be best if data was kept past 90 days. What about Flarum?
