XDAQ Plugin fails to install

@stevenerrington I'm transferring this issue to the XDAQ plugin repository.

@StoneLin0708, could you please investigate this issue? Since I don’t have access to the XDAQ hardware, I wasn’t able to test the plugin’s functionality. However, I noticed that the plugin fails to load as mentioned below immediately after installation. Interestingly, it loads right away when I close and re-launch the GUI. This problem seems to be exclusive to the XDAQ and XDAQ-Neuropixels plugins, as all other plugins install and load perfectly fine.

We are currently setting up our KonteX XDAQ Core 1 system to record using OpenEphys ahead of our upcoming experiments. However, when I go to install the XDAQ plugin through the plugin installer, it goes through the process and then fails. The error message is 126 stating that a .dll is not found. If I restart OpenEphys after this, XDAQ does appear in the acquisition list, but does not function as expected (i.e. does not detect the port with a headstage); sometimes will run acquisition with ADC, but then will crash on other times).
Do you have any suggestions on how I can rectify this issue?
GUI version: 1.0.1; OS: Windows 10

@anjaldoshi Thank you so much for transferring the issue to us and taking the time to test the installation.
@stevenerrington I was able to reproduce the installation error in the XDAQ plugins. These issues will be fixed in a future release.

As for the detection and stability issues, I wasn’t able to reproduce them on our end using Windows 11 and GUI version 1.0.1. Could you please help by doing any of the following, depending on your availability:

• Let me know which headstage you’re using
• Provide the log from the Open Ephys console tab
• Try upgrading the OpalKelly driver, or let me know which driver installer version you’re using (Driver Downloads from OpalKelly)
• Test on another computer with a different OS (e.g., Windows 11, macOS, Ubuntu 22.04, or Ubuntu 24.04)

We really appreciate your time. Any additional information will help us diagnose the issue and resolve it more quickly. Thanks!

Headstage
We are using a NeuroNexus X3R Headstage (32ch) connected to a Plexon U-probe

Console log
I have attached the error log to this issue. This error occured after: I started OpenEphys, began a stream (no headstage detected, but 8 ADC channels were showing - albeit with no change in the signals), stopped a stream, unselected the ADC in the XDAQ source box, and then went to stream again.

Driver version
Currently, driver version 2.3.0.1 (in device manager)/ software version 5.3.6 (in add/remove programs) is installed. I've tried a few different versions and reinstalls with no changes to the issue.

Another system
Interestingly, I installed OpenEphys on my macbook (Apple M1 Pro, MacOS Tahoe 26.1 (25B78)) and the plugin installed without any issues. Same issues though: I can get 8 ADC channels to appear and "stream" but no detection of a headstage/electrode or DIO ports.

Further information
I am using a NeuroNexus XDAQ Core system with IO expander. I am also having issues with the device on NeuroNexus' Radiens Allego system and am troubleshooting on this front with their engineers too. However, on their software, it can detect when a headstage is connected and the corresponding number of channels (32) - although it fails to stream.
