Slack onboarding for new members: Process Review

So far, we have onboarded people who joined Open Seeds and Nebula.

We don't offer these as regularly, so we are thinking about improving Slack onboarding for newer people.

Below are notes from different discussions.

• Psychological safety of people
• Value of creating spaces through cohort onboarding
• Being intentional about who we engage

• Downside of opening up slack is needing to be more careful around psychological safety of learners and existing community. Key difference btw TTW or other slacks is OLS has been more structured as a programme
• Slack != community - what is OUR mental model for what OLS is? And it's also important to ask this question to people not so closely involved in day to day operations and what value they get from the space
• The value that OLS creates is not in scaling -- eg by having a curated community, external people might be able to find people to collaborate who are already aligned with values and norms
