GRPC Exporter

I've been searching but can't find any useful information.

Is there an example or is it documented somewhere how to export information via GRPC instead of HTTP? Is it even possible?

Hi @gabrielSanchezCampello. In our experience, most RUM clients prefer to use HTTP, which is why we currently offer that in the android agent. However, if you really do want gRPC it is possible, but you will need to use the OpenTelemetryRumBuilder class, which is a lower-level constructor from the core module. That will allow you to provide exporter customizers, where you can inject your own gRPC exporters (which you can import from the upstream java projects).

We discussed this in the SIG meeting today, and think that since gRPC is described in the specification, that we should provide first-class support for it. Today, the agent assumes HTTP, so we'll need to give some careful consideration on how to support this in a backwards compatible way.
