As the community is actively working on profiles support in otel and otel collector, it will be great if the collector would be able to collect profiles with async-profiler, which is widely used for Java application.

Receiver that runs asprof and converts output to otel profiles.

I don't think this is needed. The async-profiler has a way to export otlp data: https://github.com/async-profiler/async-profiler/blob/master/docs/OutputFormats.md
