Zypper does not display information about the progress of package installation or system updates

Zypper does not display information about the progress of package installation or system updates.

So after accepting an operation like installing a package or updating the system, no information about the progress appears. From the moment I press the "y" key and confirm with enter, zypper does not display anything else, nor does it show the speed at which the package is being downloaded, nor how many % has been downloaded, nor does it provide information about the installation/update itself. But packages are installed successfully.

I remember that some time ago it worked fine.

I'm sorry, but no clue what makes this happen. There's nothing visible in the log, nor have there been any similar reports.

I doubt, that the lines are actually lost. It looks like the terminal simply does not write out lines without a trailing NL (which is what the progress lines do. If the issue still persists, can it be reproduced in a plain xterm?
