Shorter Service Name

It's the first time that I stumble over this service but one thing I realized quickly is that the name is long and feels bulky. For the easy of use of the service I would therefore recommend to shorten the service name to for example "use_package_version". Not sure how much work this would be but maybe the is a simple way to create an alias?

Well, while I agree that the name could have been shorter and most probably nicer, I see very little impact of the service name against it's ease of use. This not a command line tool one uses for developing. The service name is parameter in a configuration file, not something one has to tune, test and change several times during the development.

I'd say that creating a new service RPM just for renaming an existing the service is not worth. Also I'd like to avoid the proliferation of obs services specially if there is no added value.

I'd be opened to rename the service if it grows and use cases and features are extended.

Regarding your last point. This is exactly the reason why I brought up this topic. There is the idea to use the service by default in the container templates to make the live of the developers easier and simple. Unfortunately the name brings in again complexity which I would like to avoid in the first place. It's like making two steps forward and one step back.
