hello i find a gateway question

i find a session:
i use: ipmitool lan set 1 vlan id 1212 to set eth.1212 interface
i next use: ipmitool lan set 1 defgw ipaddr 192.168.1.253
the defgw can't set defgw to eth.interface
the defgw still set the defgw to eth
is this property wo need to support?
