Wrong paths of offline-editing layers after packaging for QField #742

What is the bug or the crash? What were your expectations and what actually happened?

Since I use QField 3.40 and qfieldsync 4.18 I have tho follwing problems whenever I try to package a project with qfieldsync that inlcudes offline-editing layers. In the packaged project at least one offline-layer (most of the times multiple) still point to the original geopackage file instead of data.gpkg. The new data.gpkg file also contains the layers with the wrong paths set in the offline project, but these geopackage layers are empty. Is there a fix or a workaround for this bug?

Steps to reproduce the issue

I can reproduce this problem whenever I use qfieldsyn to package a QGIS project... At least some paths of offline-editing layers are always wrong and still point to the directory of the original QGIS project.

I tried to:

  • Reinstall QGIS and qfieldsync
  • Different projects with different data files
  • Only store ONE layer in ONE gpkg file
  • Copy all gpkg files to the QGIS project root directory

QGIS version

3.40 LTS

QFieldSync Version

4.18

Operating system name

Windows

Operating system version

11, 10

Reinstall QFieldSync

  • I have a fresh install of the latest QFieldSync version on a new QGIS profile, but the problem persists.
  • Problem can be reliably reproduced, doesn't happen randomly.
  • Problem happens with all files and projects, not only some files or projects.
