Permit showing only Client-side Rendered charts in Data Saver mode

I have enabled in OH-Android 3.17.12-beta under Settings “Data Saver”.

I load a sitemap with a Chart element. OH-Andoid asks me if I want to download the server-generated chart by clicking on “Load anyway”. After the chart is downloaded, I can click on it, then the same data is transferred again form the server and then a client-side rendered chart is displayed.

• In “Data Saver” mode I want to be able to see only the client-side rendered chart, without downloading the server-side generated chart. This seems currently impossible for me.

Does OH-Android cache the chart data? I mean if I download now all data for 24hours for a chart, and an hour later I want again to see a chart for the last 24 hours, will OH-Android then download only the data for the last hour, as the information for the previous 23 hours was already downloaded?

It's not the same data. The former is an image, the latter is a (JSON) list of data points.

I'm not sure whether that's a good idea. Depending on the amount of data points, the client side chart data can be much larger than the server side generated image. (Main motivation behind its introduction was the ability of zooming and scrolling, not data saving.)

No, but it's an interesting idea. Implementation isn't exactly trivial though.

Yes and no. With same data I mean the users sees the same peaks and lows. The information about the same peak is downloaded twice: once as image and once as JSON.

In any case, if I want at the same time to scroll, zoom and save data, I want to avoid loading the server-side generated image and download only the JSON data. This is currently not possible.
