OpenSearch cross-cluster replication "issue"

I need help with an OpenSearch cross-cluster replication issue. I have two OpenSearch clusters, one in Asia and one in Europe, each running on a different EKS cluster. The VPCs are connected, so they can communicate.

I set up cross-cluster replication according to the official guide, but the auto-follower only replicates indices smaller than 250 MB. For larger indices, I get an UNALLOCATED error with the reason "cannot allocate because allocation is not permitted to any of the nodes."

Both clusters were installed with the same configurations using a Helm chart.

@boiken Can you provide more detail about why none of the nodes allow for allocation on the unallocated shards?
