The request is add documentation for the automatic merge functionality in OpenSearch (inherited from Elastic). Users currently have to reference Elastic's documentation.

I'm not the right person for this. If the tech writing team needs help translating the Elastic documentation over, it should be someone from the engineering "core" team. I was just providing feedback.
