Canvas Developer Community support, and LTI integration standards LTI 1.3

Speaking with our Canvas admins they requested WebWork to provide the following functionality:

• Automatically create linked courses in WW from LTI launch in Canvas
• Automatically sync rosters
• Easier deep linking for assignments
• No need for instructors to copy-paste special URLs to create the links/assignments in Canvas

From what I have gathered from other individuals, integrating with Canvas (LMS) in this way should be feasible. Alex-Jordan's discussion on allowing Instructors to create their own courses through LTI would work following the above.

It sounds like the grade passback functionality of LTI 1.3 and the security of logging in via an LMS using LTI 1.3 is working, but there were some gaps they were concerned about ( citing the LTI 1.3 standards ) that pass that burden onto instructors. I believe their goal here is to alleviate that burden and make it easier for anyone running WebWork to integrate with Canvas. Working with the developer community to create this tool that allows anyone to link their WebWork course to a Canvas course should help with some of the development, but I could be wrong.
