I Fear The Render Map Will Take The Gigabytes.

This is clearly something we would like to see happen as well... but we miss time/funding/volunteer(s) to work on it for now.

Plan is indeed to create multiple ZIMs with various "things" inside to make their size useful. Not something which has been discussed so far, but maybe one ZIM per country with the country and 500 km around its borders (to have a thing which makes sense for the ones who lives close to the borders and for small countries) + the continent up to a less precise resolution + the world up to another less precise resolution.
