New to Oppai contribution for GSOC

[ayanchavand]

Hey, I'm interested in contributing to the Android app and was looking for issues to work on. I noticed that some issues are reserved for GSoC 2025 which I am participating in. Is it reserved for people who get selected or is it for people who are looking to join oppia for gsoc? Can I take those issues?

Hi @ayanchavand. GSoC participation is open to everyone. Information about how you can submit a proposal are available here: https://github.com/oppia/oppia/wiki/Google-Summer-of-Code-2025.

To participate generally, outside of GSoC, please look at our wiki for information on getting started.

I am new to GSoC and open source can you guide me steps to submit the pr and also I am very confused, what are minimum requirements to get selected ?

[adhiamboperes]

@shkshreyas, we require you to work on a minimum of two issues so that we can evaluate your abilities. In addition, you need to submit a proposal for one of the 3 projects we are offering this year, by the application deadline.
