"Unable to connect to the WebLogic domain's administration server" - WebLogic Remote Console 3.0.2

Exactly, started with the new version 3.0.2. Didn't receive that message with the 2.x version.

What that means is that the console tried to communicate to WebLogic and failed. If your console is still functioning, that means it stayed connected (but failed for an instant) or reconnected and the message should have come down. I've tried it locally and I have not reproduced the message staying up after successful communication.

In 2.X, when such a request was unsuccessful, you were left with a message on the screen and a blank screen beneath it. You then had to go to the menu to disconnect and reconnect.

We considered popping the user out to the Provider Table, but thought that that wouldn't be a good UI, because connectivity could just drop for a second and kicking the user out would break a perfectly healthy situation.

I have it installed on more than one machine, same behavior. Odd, it works...just have the nastygram up top on the screen ;-).

Would this message be due to the Administration Port not being enabled on the provider? I noticed this is the case on all the providers I have configured.

Hi All,
Just to add to the post, I myself encounter the same issue with remote console 3.0.2 (I have note tried other versions to know).

First of all, i was connecting on 'listen port' and NOT the administration port. Everything works ok and i can see and make changes to the domain , servers etc.

But, i was getting 2 warnings , the one on the top , which is the same as the original poster mentions, and the one on the bottom ,which i figured out was to do with not having the proper certificates to 'trust' the weblogic server. I have fixed the certificate one.

After 'fixing' the certificate warning, I am still encountering the same issue as the poster mentions..
I thought it had to do with the administration port not being enabled.
I enabled it, etc, and i can confirm that my EM now listens and is accessible on the new administration port (i had to change mine to 9702 , as 9002 was taken up by the Forms Domain Administration port !).

I can confirm that my managed 'bi_server1' connects to the admin server using the administration port 9702, accessible etc.
I can still connect to the console, using remote console , make changes etc, BUT i still get the same 'error' warning message as the original post.

Glad to see I am not the only one with the error/warning message. I continue to receive the error here, but do seem to have full functionality.

yes. Full functionality is seems (so far) . It's just, that the message sent me down the rabbit hole to find problems where they did not exist...oh well... back to weblogic now :) 👍

This issue should be resolved when 3.0.3 gets published
