Problems with folder sharing for Atlas on Windows 11

Hi everyone,

I've recently installed Atlas OS for Windows 11 and followed all the setup instructions provided. However, I'm having issues with network folder sharing. Here's what I'm experiencing:

Other computers on the network cannot access the shared folder I’ve set up on the Atlas OS machine.

Likewise, the Atlas machine cannot access shared folders on other computers.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Ran the Enable File Sharing.cmd script.

Applied the User Network Navigation Pane choice.reg registry file.

Restarted the system.

Enabled Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing for Private, Public, and All Networks in the Advanced Sharing Settings.

Created a shared folder and granted access to "Everyone" with read/write permissions.

Despite all this, the sharing functionality still doesn't work both ways.

My Question:
Are there any additional configurations, services, or policies in Atlas OS that might be disabling or interfering with file sharing? Maybe something related to firewall rules, SMB settings, or stripped-down services?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have this problem too, expect I can access the shared folder directly by typing the path in to file explorer like '\OTHERPC\SharedFolder', but if I try to go back to the PC, Windows will just say I do not have permission.

Hi ! I have the same problem as you. Do you find any issue to this problem, can't give access. I'm thinking, rebooting my devices, for me each device have the same user name. Is it a problem ? I don't think. Thanks for your help.

I found this, into the Windows properties, go to security, and add everyone in full access. This resolve my problem.

Same here. I format my PC , install clean w11 and then optimize it with tweak now win secret plus ! Better than atlas ;)

What i found out so far.
My Vmware computer with AtlasOS could connect to a shared drive i hade on the host PC with windows 10.
Then i installed AtlasOS on the host and here is where problems started.
i believe issues are with SHARING on AtlasOS.
I have no issues browsing my NAS by typing in IP numbers.

So perhaps its SMB isues? tried installing SMB1 but needs 3 perhaps?

How is VMware set up here? What's your network mode?

So, i just found the solution =)

So no issues with VMWare, i set network to have its own adapter to get its own IP number
I had it working with the same VMWare client, problems started with reinstall of the Host computer, but now i got it running as it should.

When AtlasOS is completed you can find a link to a folder on the desktop named "Atlas" leading to (C:\Windows\AtlasDesktop)
"C:\Windows\AtlasDesktop\3. General Configuration\File Sharing\Enable File Sharing.cmd"

I did try the Script to enable file sharing first but something must have bugged out cause nothing happend. then i tried many other things that did nothing.

Then i tried again and rightclicked and "run as administrator" on the "C:\Windows\AtlasDesktop\3. General Configuration\File Sharing\Enable File Sharing.cmd"
Answered No to the private network and yes to the 2 following questions.
After a restart it all worked and i could access folders.

Guessing i didnt have rights from start by just running script with doubbleclick.

I had a folder shared and working in Windows 11 Pro. I ran the latest Atlas AME-Beta and everything worked except the share no longer works. I ran "C:\Windows\AtlasDesktop\3. General Configuration\File Sharing\Enable File Sharing.cmd" as admin and answered N,Y,Y but the share still doesn't work.

I found out you need to answer Yes to private network.
