Hi,
Sorry if this issue has already been reported. I searched but couldn’t find any post about it.
I’m not entirely sure this is an Atlas OS issue, but I never had this problem on Windows. When I revert back to Windows, everything works fine, and when I install Atlas OS, the issue appears.
I’m experiencing this problem with Steam and the NVIDIA app, but also with some files in my Downloads folder.
The issue is that when I try to launch a program—by directly clicking on the executable (for example, Steam.exe in the Steam folder, without using a shortcut)—I get a message saying that Windows can’t find the file, even though I’m clicking directly on it.
As I said, I have the same issue with the NVIDIA app, but Chrome, Battle.net, EA, and other apps work fine.
I also discovered today that a PDF file I just downloaded into the Downloads folder has the same issue.
I did some research but couldn’t find a working solution. For Steam, I managed to fix it by copying the file and renaming it to Steam2.exe, and then it works—but this is annoying, and it doesn’t work for the NVIDIA app or for my PDF files.
So I’m hoping someone can help me with this issue.
I installed the latest version of Atlas OS (5.0) based on Windows 11 Pro and followed the installation guide exactly.
Thank you.
