Hello @mizmay, Welcome on board! 🎉 You should have received an invitation to join @EqualStreetNames/tel-aviv. Documentation wise, everything is documented here and here. I'll have a look at you PR EqualStreetNames/module-website#157 ; thanks already! |

Hello @mizmay, Do you want to transfer https://github.com/mizmay/equalstreetnames-tel-aviv to @EqualStreetNames (you, of course, stay admin of the repository) or do you want to keep it under your own namespace ? Both are of course perfectly fine, it's just to know if you want me to take care of the last steps (like setting up Whatever your decision is, I'll add it to our main README once I know which URL I should add. Thanks. |

Hi Folks,
Great project, I was really pleased to stumble upon it.
I recently customized the EqualStreetNames template for Tel Aviv, on behalf of a couple of performance artists who are planning events in Tel Aviv, Ashdod, Haifa and Sderot where participants can research notables from underrepresented groups and propose new names for certain streets. Preview it here. If anyone else's workflow is improved by the ability to publish this in Github Pages, I can provide instructions and/or contribute to the template README, for this and perhaps also for how to test locally, I know these can be a technical impediments :).
Note there is a bug; Hebrew and Arabic are rendered right-to-left, not left-to-right like European languages. I filed a PR to correct this.
The limitation is that
name:etymology:wikidatais not comprehensively tagged in OpenStreetMap. If there are people interested in getting involved by researching Wikidata links and adding tags in OpenStreetMap, please reach out, especially if you are local to these cities and/or if you can read Hebrew and/or Arabic. I am a cartographer and web developer in Seattle, WA and not involved directly with this project on the ground.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
