you could do a 'donate for issue priority' scheme where issues donated to get put first in queue and you could show this in the milestones. this is a win-win situation in my eyes as long as the issues are within scope |
@inson1 The problem with that is poor ratings and reviews. The (uninitiated) users usually expect some additional feature or service when they choose a "pro" version over a free version. Of course, we can try to put that in the description but, speaking from my experience on Google Play, many people don't read the store descriptions. A lot of them don't even check all the screenshots. An unhappy paid-app user is a lot more likely to leave a 1-star review than a happy free-app user leaving a 5-star review. Also, just to clarify, GPL doesn't prevent anyone from selling a binary or binaries compiled using the source code. |

This could probably be a pro-version (but please not only via the Play Store (maybe also the Amazon Store?)) The Wikipedia donation banners can also be annoying ... |

Seems well intentioned. The only thing that might put people off using it to support FOSS projects is if they are already committed to supporting individual projects or other umbrella support groups. Example would be I support F-Droid via Open Source Collective and Fossify directly. Open Pledge might be good for people who realize they'd like to support FOSS but aren't exactly sure how to go about it. |

When they didn't have a pro version which I believe the dialer wasn't and maybe the recorder I purchased a small Thank you & when I saw that pro was available on Reddit I believe I purchased 1.99 life time pro version & I'm below the USA Federal Poverty Level & I made sure that I bought the pro version if available and this was before the babies crying about that they had a trial and were expected to buy the pro version & though I can't afford subscriptions for streaming services and such I will buy a cup of coffee and I see PayPal is the only option and I don't like using it I will anyway if it helps in some small way like a couple of boxes of printer paper😂 I'll take care of it tomarrow I defiantly hate the banner idea and would prefer to do a Thank you before being asked |

I have a question about f-droid builds. Simple Mobile Tools versions in play store and f-droid were quite different tools. E.g. the gallery pro app in play store has a really nice editor, while the apk from f-droid only has a very basic one. Because if it is it would be nice to have that version in f-droid. |

@carnager Gallery Pro from Google Play uses a paid editor SDK (https://github.com/imgly). The SDK is not FOSS so we can't release that version on Fdroid. If the pro versions on the Google Play Store stay pro versions (i.e. paid), it should be possible to keep using that paid SDK to provide those advanced features at least on Google Play but If I release all apps as free on the Play Store (see the project name), I probably won't keep that feature as the SDK license won't be cheap. We'll see. |

@naveensingh I would be for switching from that in future anyway tbh, but yea that doesnt have the highest priority and would be better to leave it, if they would give us good price |

@naveensingh @inson1 Per the GNU GPL, proprietary SDKs cannot be combined with GPL code in the same project. Either way, this proprietary library will have to be removed so that the project stops violating the GPL. |

I rarely comment on projects on Github. But I just wanted to thank you for creating an SMT fork. I use a few apps from this project and it's very bad news to have learned of its takeover. Hope the new forked project will continue...! |

Also I Think That It May Be Necessary For This Permission To Be Allowed For Most Apps, In Case Any Background Process Catches An Error, The App's Debug Activity Should Be Able To Show The User/Developer What The Error Actually Is, So It Can Be Debugged. |

With notifications at least some folks automatically think about "cloud messages". I guess this is rather for showing alarms etc. in the notification area, right? @RustoMCSpit Nope. Although the current functionality is basic, I don't want to replace the whole project with another. Popular note-taking features will be added to Fossify Notes anyway.
Maybe it'll serve as inspiration. I'll check out the features. |

Eventually, the orange SMT calculator icon got to me and I uninstalled it and installed CalcYou in its place until the Fossify calculator gets released ±✨

@M-Reimer Google flagged the initial version as misleading, a new version should be available soon. With version 1.0.2, the FDroid pipeline is passing so it should be available there in a few days as well. |

The app seems to be still in closed testing phase so it's not publicly visible. I contacted the support team but haven't heard back - it's been radio silence so far. |

You cannot "push to F-Droid", they pull. But Contacts v1.1.0 is available at IzzyOnDroid and confirmed by 2 builders as being reproducible (see the "packages" section there: 2 green shields next to the version name). And you can use the IzzyOnDroid repo in the F-Droid client of your choice 😉 |

As nobody seems to have wished for it yet: I'm personally really looking forward to Flashlight being released, did not find any other app which is so lightweight especially in the cases when you prefer the screen as "flashlight" over the actual physical flashlight. |

I am very grateful SMT apps have been forked by a committed developer. Hopefully you get the financial support and technical assistance you need to continue the success of the previous project. On another note, is there an ETA as to when the FossifyX apps will be added to F-Droid?
