So, I tried setting it up usingg ollama and it ran on my CLI locally but it is asking fir Claude account API, anyone to help a new dev here.

it's because this project runs on top of the actual claude code that's why it asks for claude account api, keep in mind this is not a fresh ground up open agent, it's close to a wrapper/UI layer on top of Anthropic’s Claude Code runtime, with adapters for other models like Ollama

not quite, this project is a wrapper not an actual "reveresed engineered" claude code that runs independently it still uses claude code runtime

The "/loop" command in the most recent ClaudeCode CLI is not functional in OpenClaude currently. Is there a way we can replicate that functionality, because the code for the command exists in the code base currently.

(This is a suggestion, loop functionality can be mimicked through tmux on Ubuntu)

No, you can create an environment variable. If you go to the OpenRouter page that he is referring to in the video, you can setup environment variables in the bashrc (Linux) or set environment variables in Windows, so that wherever you run the Claude command, it uses OpenRouter

this is just a wrapper not an actual independent open-sourced agent it works on top of claude code runtime so you're basically using an "open-source skin" for claude code

Quick maintainer clarification so this announcement thread stays accurate:

• OpenClaude does support OpenAI-compatible providers like OpenRouter and local Ollama; those paths do not require Anthropic account flow when configured correctly
• /loop source exists in the repo, but it is not currently available in the open build
• For Copilot/OpenRouter/Ollama/MCP setup help, please open a separate Q&A discussion with your OS, provider, model, exact command/config, and the full error text or screenshot

We will keep troubleshooting in dedicated threads so answers stay searchable and this thread does not turn into a mixed support log.

If I run regular claude with, say, "-p 'fix spelling mistakes in comments'", it will do so (and i can design my loop outside of it). But openclaude seemingly exits the first iteration, with --verbose saying something like "Oh, I see the spelling mistakes. I will fix the most egregious ones first..." then EXITS. This seems to differ from real claude. (no, not a permission problem)
