terminator terminal window behavior and XQuartz #3392
-
Hi - on 10.14 i used to use terminator as a terminal under XQuartz. after upgrading to an M1 mac running Big Sur, i'm finding that terminator launches each instance of the terminal as a new python program with an associated dock icon, even when invoked from an XQuartz xterm window. is there a way to make terminator return to the old behavior such that the windows created are children of XQuartz rather than being independent windows belonging to independent python programs? i am running XQuartz 2.8.1 from xquartz.org though i see there have been a lot of commits in https://github.com/XQuartz/XQuartz but no release in a while. |

my bad; i had been running terminator from macports. over there it's a gtk environment so it works as expected. i guess the python that ships with terminator on homebrew is a self-contained version with mac-native windowing. |
