Description of issue

Hi - new here and still MySql and terminal beginner, so please imagine I'm 4 years old :)

I installed homebrew and would like to run MySQL now, but I'm running into issues.

Some things I've tried in the terminal:

brew services start mysql
Error: Formula mysql is not installed.

mysql --version
mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.24, for osx11.1 (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper

mysql.server status
ERROR! MySQL is not running

I had MAMP Pro installed and uninstalled at some point. Did have MySQL there, could there be some residuals?

What does brew info mysql say?

We've installed your MySQL database without a root password. To secure it run:
mysql_secure_installation

MySQL is configured to only allow connections from localhost by default

To connect run:

To start mysql now and restart at login:
