GRLDR (Grub4Dos) automatically installed?

Some days ago I installed LegacyUpdate on a Vista PC and found that GRLDR is now hooked to the bootsector and booting Vista 🤔

Is this expected?

No, there is no possible way for this to happen. You’ve installed something else that’s done this. Legacy Update isn’t interested in your bootloader, there’s no reason we would need to touch it.

I thought so; it's a real mystery, the disk was completely wiped (all 0s) before installing Vista. I only installed LegacyUpdate and some drivers.

Whatever installed GRLDR left behind a BOOTSECT.BAK file but can't find anything else (no menu.lst).
