Sunshine seems to keep a fairly significant amount of VRAM allocated even while completely idle.
On my Fedora/NVIDIA system, immediately after a fresh reboot and before connecting with Moonlight, nvidia-smi reports about 230 MiB of VRAM used by Sunshine. GPU utilization is 0%.
From the logs it looks like this allocation appears when Sunshine tests NVENC/H.264/HEVC/AV1 during its startup encoder probe.
Because Sunshine apparently probes the encoder again when starting a stream anyway, could the startup probe either:
A. Release its GPU/CUDA/NVENC resources completely after capability detection, keeping only the capability results.
B. Just not be probed until the first client needs those capabilities?
230 MiB isn't a huge deal on my 16 GB GPU, but it seems unnecessary for an idle service that may not stream anything for hours.
