How to get the IP address of the instance that triggered the event

I have a event called EC2_Instance_State_change_Notification_running triggered by AWS instance restarts. How can I get the floating IP address of the instance? I'm trying to see If I can pass this to ansible playbook using something similar like ${/#miq_provision.destination.floating_ip_addresses.first}

The object returns the following and I wonder if I can access it like ${/#miq_provision.destination.floating_ip_addresses.first}

Hm I don't know if we can evaluate automate expressions for that field, this is a great idea though.
@Fryguy @jrafanie do you know if something like this already exists?

If not I wonder if we could add an automate method to expose the ip address generically for infra and cloud vms, and have a selection for running on the target vm.

I thought IP addresses were already exposed for instances via the ip_addresses method. We also have the public_address method, but I'm not sure what that does. I thought we also had a public_ip_address and private_ip_address method somewhere but I can't find them :/ . If those aren't sufficient though I could see offering another public method.

I wasn't sure if that was exposed to automate, don't think we need anything added to the models.

All columns and virtual columns are by default exposed to automate and ipaddresses is a virtual column.

@Fryguy Any idea how the dialog hosts is passed to ansible runner when executed through buttons? I wonder if I can do the same for playbook when triggered through event. I've been looking into ansible runner code but haven't found how the dialog is passed to ansible runner.

I'm not sure offhand as it's been a while since I've dug in, but in general these parameters are put into the request. Then those parameters are manipulated during the request to be run as part of the ManageIQ::Providers::AnsiblePlaybookWorkflow
