"How to Add a New KubeVirt Cloud Provider in ManageIQ"

Hi,

We want to integrate KubeVirt as a new cloud provider in ManageIQ and would like a proper guide to help with the setup and configuration. If anyone has experience with this or if there's an existing guide that details the steps, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please share any relevant resources or tips to ensure a smooth integration.

KubeVirt is an infra provider, and requires a Kubernetes or OpenShift provider to be added first. When adding the Kube/OpenShift provider, there is a Virtualization tab, where you can select the virtualization information.

Hi @Fryguy, By following the provided procedure, we were able to successfully connect the OpenShift provider. However, we are still facing issues connecting to KubeVirt due to unclear details regarding the credentials needed for the Hostname, API Port, and token. Specifically, we need to confirm whether the Hostname is the same as the one obtained from OpenShift or if a separate one is required for KubeVirt.

The hostname and token can be the same as your openshift cluster assuming that service account has access to the kubevirt api group.

Hi @agrare ,

I struggled with same intergration with OpenShift KubeVirt until I saw this. Every other thing is working. Intergration to OpenShift API, Prometheus all works. I have just added the permissions in the screenshot B on Openshift but the error am getting connecting is not intuitive (ScreenshotA)


and does not suggest anything. Please I know this is an old thread but if you have any time this week to make a suggestion, it will be appreciated. Thank you

Thank you soooooo much @agrare for responding. Was excited when I saw this. I feel so embarrassed to mention that I do not know how to apply this gem. Done some researching since I saw this but none working. I have manageiq as appliance. if you can point me to the right document or steps it will really help me.
