Mathics3 version 8.0.0

In advance of a Mathics 8.0.0 release soon, a new docker image is available on hub.docker.com.

If you can, please try this out. The first section of https://github.com/orgs/Mathics3/discussions/1304 describes some of the changes. Here is the relevant part of that:

This release is to get out some of the major changes that have gone on already in advance of redoing Boxing and Formatting.
The major changes have been to start to get (but not fully finish) operators controlled from a new operators YAML table . A small pass was made over the Mathics parser to handle box operators more properly. And finally, we started adding (but again not fully finished) debugging.

Also important is the work by David A. Roberts for pyodide and Aravindh Krishnamoorthy on Rubi.

What is likely to change (aside from bumping the version from 7.0.1.dev0 to 8.0.0) is possibly what is described in the discussion above.

At this point, all of the suite of Mathics3 repositories has been updated to work with the Mathics 8.0.0 Kernel.

All of the packages that reside on PyPI have been updated, and a true 8.0.0 docker image is available on hub.docker.com. The mathics.org page has an updated 8.0.0 PDF.

I have been seeing small lingering problems involving paths, or perhaps JSON tables not being where they are expected to be in certain situations. Stuff like this. But I think each of these can be addressed in isolation and fixed.
