Device Firmware Update gets stuck

Describe the issue you are experiencing

I've got Firmware Updates for some of my devices.
After uploading the binaries to RaspberryMatic, the Device-Rifmware Overview shows "Die Updatedatei wird zum Gerät übertragen".
And now, nothing happens. This state is now for about one or two months.
All devices are up and running. They are also communicating with RaspberryMatic (can be controlled and show current values/states).

Describe the behavior you expected

The firmware should be transfered to the device and the "Update" Button should be shown.

1. Upload Firmware binary for an existing device
2. Wait...

ova (Open Virtual Infrastructure, AMD64/x86_64)

Which HomeMatic/homematicIP radio module are you using?

RPI-RF-MOD

Anything in the logs that might be useful for us?

Unfortunately, I cannot find any helpful information in the logs regarding the affected devices.

The bug also appeared in v3.81.5.20250326

The radio module is connected by an HB-RF-ETH

The System uses an HmIP-HAP as range extender.

This is not a general issue/bug. The point is:

1. Device Firmware Updates will only be transferred to devices if the CCU/RaspberryMatic DutyCycle is < 50%. Ergo, constant DutyCycle > 50% => No Device firmware updates will ever reach the devices. Or the other way around: Device firmware uploads will only happen at times where DutyCycle is < 50%.
2. When you reboot your CCU/RaspberryMatic the whole device firmware upload will restart from scratch. Thus, if you update/reboot your CCU/RaspberryMatic every few weeks you will never reach the state where 100% of the device firmware would be uploaded to the devices. Ergo: Keep you CCU/RaspberryMatic untouched and up&running for the time where device firmware are transferred to their respective devices.
3. The device firmware upload/management is a closed source component in HMIPServer we (the RaspberryMatic project) cannot modify. Thus, any request for improvements/fixes have to directly go to the Homematic vendor: eQ3
4. This is not a bug/issue: The reason why device firmware updates are processed in background is to simply keep your DutyCycle low. And in the end it does not matter if it takes days, weeks or months.. Just keep it going and don't reboot your CCU/RaspberryMatic while the transmissing of the device firmware is underway...

Thanks for the information. Would it be possible to show some indicator whether updates are transferred (like "DutyCycle > 50%, updates paused" on top of the update overview) and a progress of each update transfer?

To 1: Thank you for this explanation. These information is new but very helpful vor me.
To 2: My RaspberryMatic instance is running very stable. So it only restarts, if an update is applied (like today).

If the problem still occurs, do you have a good line to eQ3 to address the problem there?

As said, this is strictly speaking not a "problem". It is a misassumption on your end. Keep your system running and do not update/reboot your CCU/RaspberryMatic or the devices as long as device firmware updates are pending, then (given that your general dutycycle is low enough) the update firmwares will reach their devices...

Hi, I am experiencing the same. The duty cycle is at 38 %. Wich time frame is reasonable: days, weeks or months?
