February 2024 meeting

We met for an online meeting on February 26, 2024, to discuss strategies for development of the code and the status of ongoing developments.

Meeting notes

• Pip install will use separate setup.py so as not to mix with conda’s setup
• Conda will stay the main installation tool. Juan will look into implementing GH actions for CI.
• Then we will merge the latest pull request - Mpi config update #6
• Yngve will look into scikit-build (or other CMake build tool) to have incremental build of C++ part
• Sasha will try to meson-python for incremental build.
• Andrey will fix some physics-related things in PyORBIT2. Juan will keep an eye on them and sync them to PyORBIT3
• Next meeting in ~4 weeks, Yngve will set up a meeting.
