Which AI subscription do I buy for making contributions to Trilium? #6957

Hi this is just a quick question. I've been making plugins for the Obsidian canvas and planning to make some edits for Trilium. I particularly want to make changes to the relation map note type and the table view of the collection note type. I've been switching between ChatGPT and Claude for making them. I'm not very techy enough to discern which has been better for me. So I'd like to ask for your expert opinion. ChatGPT Plus vs Claude Pro? Which is more worth it for this use-case? Thank you. |

If you're just going to create smaller features/changes, I don't think you'll have an issue with the $20 sub to Claude Code. If so, you can just wait until the usage resets :) |

I asked this question in a different forum and they suggested Google AI Studio. I looked around a bit on Google AI Studio and found that Claude and ChatGPT have their equivalents namely, https://console.anthropic.com/ and https://platform.openai.com/. What about these? Have you used them? |

Gemini is Google’s AI - and they offer a free CLI with some decent limits, so you could try that too. OpenAI’s assistant is named Codex, and Anthropic’s is Claude Code. Those links you sent are to their “chat” console, but you would want a CLI assistant if you’d be comfortable with that… Feel free to try whatever you want! Worst that happens is that we make suggestions instead of immediately merging your PR lol |
