Custom Document Icon

I’m getting tired of doing this one by one — I could build a tool for it, but I’m hoping someone else ships a more sophisticated solution sooner.

We'll add support for custom icon packs (not custom icons uploaded by the user). The icon pack must use be based on fonts (.woff2, .woff, or .ttf).

Thanks for the clarification! Could you share the reasoning behind limiting custom icon packs to font formats only (.woff2/.woff/.ttf)?
Allowing PNG/SVG uploads would be much simpler for users — is there a technical, security, or performance constraint that makes font-based packs preferable?
And if bundle size is the main concern, would you consider supporting PNG/SVG packs with reasonable limits (e.g., max dimensions/file size, or a fixed icon set size) instead?

Font-based icon packs map really neatly to the existing system we have (which is Boxicons). This means that the icon packs need to be developed by someone so it's not perfectly user-friendly.

A PNG/SVG-based system would require more extensive changes than we are willing to do right now. We might get around to implementing that (even emoji-based system), but they are completely separate systems.

Got it. that makes sense. Considering the other tasks on the roadmap, I agree this is a relatively minor feature to tackle right now.
