Inheritable protection

Basically I protected a note, and created subnotes under that note, and I assumed those by default would also become protected, (as if it was a protected folder struture) but they don't.
Personally I find it would make more sense and be more useful if that was true by default, but if it stays as is, it would be cool to be at least able to create such behaviour. However from what I could see from wiki and trying live, there's no label to refer to the system/promoted attribute used to describe protection so I can't force it to be inheritable using default attributes mechanics.
Or am I missing something?
