Hi everyone,

Welcome to the new home of the Voca family. If you found your way here, you probably already use one of these, or you're curious about dictation that doesn't ship your voice to someone else's server. Either way, glad you're here.

What is VocaHQ?

VocaHQ is the shared organization for a family of free, open-source voice dictation apps. One idea, every platform: speak, and text appears where your cursor is. Nothing leaves your machine.

All of it is free forever, open source, and 100% offline. No accounts, no cloud, no audio uploads.

Why an org?

These projects started on my personal account and grew past it. A few active contributors now maintain pieces of the family with me, and a shared org makes access and ownership much saner than routing everything through one person. If you had old links or clones, don't worry: everything redirects, and stars, issues, and PRs all came along. Full details in the migration announcement.

The vision

Set it up once, use it everywhere you work. Linux desktop with an iPhone in your pocket. A Mac at the office and an Android at home. A headless box you talk to over the network. Any combination, one consistent dictation experience, with feature parity across platforms as the goal.

That's what we're building toward at vocahq.com, one release at a time.

How to get involved

• Use it. Pick your platform above and try it. The install is one command on most systems.
• Report things. Bugs, rough edges, weird distros, strange keyboards. Issues are gold.
• Contribute. Each repo has a CONTRIBUTING.md. Good first issues get labeled. Whisper the words "I know Swift" near vocamac and see what happens.
• Star the repos. It genuinely helps people find the projects.
• Say hi below. Tell us what platform you're on and what you use dictation for. It directly shapes what gets built next. 👋

Thanks for being here. Building this family has been one of my favorite things I've done in open source, and it's a lot more fun with company.
