Self-hosted Weblate+Gitlab: "This URL is prohibited because it points to an internal or non-public address."

Hello! I'm trying to set up self-hosted Weblate for my organization. I created a new weblate user on our Gitlab, created a personal access token for it, and then set up the WEBLATE_GITLAB_USERNAME and related environment variables in the configuration.

After setting this up and trying to create a new project, the option for "Gitlab Merge Request" did show up in the VCS selection, but when trying to create the project I keep getting this error:

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to fix this. Am I missing some other configuration setting somewhere?
