I modified the search-tool-qt to work as a filetree with the search function.

You may also try the new File Browser plugin (will be available with Audacious 4.6) which I have implemented recently. Its idea is to offer an integrated, dockable file tree widget for your music directory.

aud_plugin_get_supported_extensions() is not available in Audacious 4.5. You need the latest Git version with this commit: 8bd3a30

When I install the latest git it still says it is 4.5.....

It is 4.6-devel right now. Looks like you installed both versions at the same time but the 4.5 (probably installed in /usr instead of /usr/local) is picked up.

Based on your hostname you may try the audacious-git and audacious-plugins-git packages from the AUR.
