After installing Bottles and running for 1st time video computer wide, not just in Bottles, goes wonky and stops functioning

After I installed Bottles and ran it for the first time, the video on my computer went wonky, eg, taking 30 seconds and one screen going temporarily black if I changed a window size, then one screen went blank altogether and I had to use the power switch on my computer to shut down.

This all started when I ran Bottles for the first time, not when I installed it.

I solved this by using Timeshift to revert to before I ran Bottles. It is noteworthy that when I rebotted my computer after the crash the video ran fine long enough to use Timeshift, and I did not restart Bottles. I also didn't resize any windows or parts of them. This problem was occurring when I switched between normal and full screen mode while watching You Tube videos in Chrome. Logs don't have any information on what happened.

Neither the motherboard and processor nor my video card support Vulcan. I have Mint 22.3 and Wine version 9.

I thought that everything Bottles installs runs INSIDE of Bottles - I guess not. Further, I find for instance MESA and its libraries instsalled as two flatpaks on my system, not within Bottles. Evidently that is not all that runs system wide with Bottles. And closling bottles didn't cause the problem it caused to stop.

Is there a way to prevent this or can nobody with an older computer actually use Bottles?
