Hi DBeaver Team,
I’m seeking some technical clarification regarding how DBeaver interacts with Windows security settings. My IT security team recently flagged a PowerShell command originating from my DBeaver instance.
Specifically, they noted: "We saw a powershell command that looked like DBeaver trying to make exclusions in Defender."
Could you please clarify:
Does the DBeaver installer or the application itself attempt to add its own executable or folders to the Windows Defender exclusion list via PowerShell?
If so, what is the purpose of this action (e.g., performance optimization for local databases)?
Is there a way to disable this behavior to comply with stricter corporate security policies?
I want to be transparent with my security department so I can continue using DBeaver. Any documentation or explanation you can provide would be very helpful.
Thank you!
