Hello Jan 👋 WDYT @mploed @Baasie @NTCoding @Max-Git about it? Would you support adding it to the Strategize section of the starter process? |

Hi, thank you for the interest on this topic. I'm planning to do a talk around this topic on AmA in Berlin so this is going to be an opportunity to write down my experience with the model the past 2 years during my current assignment. |

In my current assignment I'm helping the business teams capturing their value proposition to shift from pure products to bundles of products and services named solutions and how they offer value in a specific customer segment. One part of developing the propositions is capturing the state they are in. This can be explore (innovation of new ideas with hypothesis and MVP's) and sustaining innovation of existing propositions that are in exploid (real money is being made after launch). The latest model is called Portfolio Map which is answering a lot of business agility challenges. It is well described in the book Invincible Company (Strategyzer).
My idea is to map these stages in the Portfolio map to Core Domain Charts. I think this is important because an update in the Business Raodmap using these Portfolio Maps can be an excellent event in the architecture alignment to be made. In other words, if Portfolio Maps and Core Domain Charts are linked and treated as living documents and the source of thruth there is a potential aligned strategic situation between business and architecture.
This thought is also interesting for the explore domain. When and where do we transfer the MVP (structured monolith?) to become a part of the exloit architecture? See the video below for a nice overview of potential business model scenario's that should all have impact on the changing domains.
Exploit --> aquire, merge, partner, invest, improve
Explore --> ideate, pivot, persevere, retire
Let me know what your thoughts are on this.
Kind regards, Jan Kees Velthoven
