how's it going? I'm using degoog a lot lately (I love it!) and would love to contribute a little bit more time to the project.

I hope it's okay when I throw out some ideas. 🌝

I love the integrated LLM api but I feel a bit "friction" when using it.

The integration could be presented in a different way, right now it sits at the top and can easily be overseen (maybe a stronger highlight background color?).

Also there's a lot of space on the right side of the search results, it could be used for LLM purposes.

Hey! Imagine you could click a button right next to the search results, a small chat window pops up and you could ask specific things about the website before visiting it, using some playwright automation to fetch the website content.

Another thing I thought about was that the search query get's filtered and if the query starts with a "!" or ends with a "?", it will directly go into a chat view to interact with the LLM.

The reason why I say this is because most people still use at least one search engine and a LLM frontend, why not combine it in a harmonic way so that each feature (LLM & Search) is still separated but you can combine it with a click? Per request.

First of all, I love people throwing ideas out! No idea is a bad idea.

I think everything you mentioned is a valuable addition and something that people would use, but also everything can and should be made via third party extensions as it's all doable 👀

The goal is and will always be to keep the degoog base instance as small/neat/light as possible. All these major functionalities should be done via extensions

Do you want to play with it yourself or collaborate on it? Are you on the discord server?
