Contributors for hire if you will (without the pay) we could provide a place for those interested in helping out and then direct them to packages here or elsewhere with the support framework that we have started here.

I suspect the answer to this is, "yes we could". I'm not quite sure what flow you're trying to implement here though.

I think it'd be great if we could:

• Have a new contributor getting started page
• Have a way to list the projects looking to add new maintainers

I think for now we've been focused on the maintainer side of the equation.

I think this idea is a response to the situation with DRF. Tom C mentioned in a couple of places he would have been happy for new maintainership that is genuine. It made me wonder if django-commons is a place that potential contributors/maintainers so enabling us to be a genuine point of contact for a match making scenario to happen?

I realise this is something beyond where django-commons is today, but I could see it as something that could happen with collaboration with other groups (eg the propose packaging working group, I could even see the online community working group helping out)

All that said, the 2 bullet points would be an excellent start!
