How to install software from ubuntu backports?

If you use apt install -t jammy-backports PACKAGE , it will show something like this:

Reading package lists... Done
E: The value 'jammy-backports' is invalid for APT::Default-Release as such a release is not available in the sources

Is there a way to obtain the desired purpose?

By editing /etc/apt/source.list?

I add the following two lines to /etc/apt/source.list:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ jammy-backports main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ jammy-backports main restricted universe multiverse

And then, the apt install -t jammy-backports works.
Is this way correct? Or it may cause some problem?
